Salmonberry Lodge
Salmonberry lodge is our newest building at the camp. It provides us with a common meeting area for meals and entertaining. The entrance of the lodge takes you through Ann Bailey's amazing greenhouse where she meticulously cares for her organic tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, herbs and flowers and more. Salmonberry lodge gets it's name from the abundance of wild salmonberries that grow around the lodge. You'll also find a patch of raspberries next to the lodge. All of these fresh vegetables, fruits and berries are used in providing authentic Alaskan meals to our guests.
The view from the lodge is spectacular. With the large tidal fluctuation in our area there is a constant changing of the scenery. In the evenings at low tide it is typical to see bears traveling the mud flats. As you look across Redoubt Bay there is a a serene vista of Mt. Spur, one of the active volcanoes in the area.
Scenery can also be enjoyed while sitting in Ann's beautiful flower garden's found outside the lodge and around the camp. Below is picture of Ann baking homemade rolls and breads. The lodge is equipped with a full kitchen, a rare luxury in remote Alaska. All freezers, refrigerator, and stove is run on propane.
